]]> 208 Fly First on a Simulator https://learnaero.space/start-flying-first-on-a-simulator/ Sun, 29 May 2016 19:14:49 +0000 http://learnaero.space/?p=176 If you are going to get into RC flying I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you first learn how to fly using a simulator!  This can be tons of fun, and save quite a bit of broken plane parts and dollars before flying the real things.  The one we use and is most recommended by hobbyists is RealFlight 7.5 which comes with a real transmitter to learn how to use the “sticks”.   You can also link up most pro transmitters to practice on your own “sticks” – getting the feel of the transmitter you will use in the field and learning your various settings.  RealFlight 7.5 includes all types of flying, from fixed wing to multi-rotor.

Flying multi-rotor?  Some of the experts like to step out of the RealFlight box and use some of the other simulators out there (Real Flight does have a drone simulator in addition to their other offerings).  Some great multi-rotor options the pros like include:

  • LIFTOFF – for great graphics and great FPV training on the STEAM platform
  • FPV Freerider – supports FPV and LOS (line of sight)
  • Heli-X – offers lots of great options and multi-player flying
